Step 1
(1a)
Blow your nose before taking the sample swab.
(1b)
Wash your hands thoroughly before taking your sample.
(1c)
Unscrew the lid from the collection tube provided (Be careful not to spill the fluid already inside.)
(1d)
Remove the swab from its packaging.
(1e)
Rub the swab firmly against the back of your throat twisting 5 times.
(1f)
With the same swab, tilt your head back and insert into the back of your nostril rotating it a further 5 times.
(1g)
Place the fabric end of the swab into the tube containing the liquid and snap in half, leaving the collected sample in the tube.
(1h)
Firmly tighten the lid back onto the collection tube.
step 2
- (2a) Complete the details on your lab return form.
- (2b) Now apply the small barcode sticker ‘A’ to the reverse of your blood spot card.
- (2c) Place the blood spot card into the sample bag provided.
- (2d) Apply the larger sticker ‘B’ to the outside of the sample bag.
step 3
- (3a) Insert your bagged sample back into the UN3373 transport box provided and seal with the security seal sticker.
- (3b) Insert the UN3373 transport box into the return mailing bag provided and carefully seal.
- (3c) Apply the return shipping label to the returns bag. Taking care not to cover the UN3373 symbol.
- (3c) Please return your sample on a Monday – Thursday using any Royal Mail postbox.

Step 1
(1a)
Wash your hands thoroughly before taking your sample. Now rotate your arm in a circular motion to increase blood flow.
(1b)
Disinfect your index or middle finger with the alcohol wipe provided and wait 15 seconds to dry.
(1c)
Remove the yellow lid from your collection tube.
(1d)
Hold the single use lancet horizontally, rotate the protective cover and remove.
(1e)
Hold the lancet against the tip of your selected finger, firmly press the button with your thumb. The lancet will activate with a ‘click’.
(1f)
Whilst standing up massage the punctured finger to form a drop of blood.
(1g)
Allow the blood to drip into the collection tube. Re-lid and invert the tube every 4-5 drops for sample preservation.
(1h)
Once you’ve filled the tube to the top line, place the lid on firmly and invert a further 10 times to preserve the sample.
Step 2
- (2a) Complete the details on your lab sample form.
- (2b) Now apply the small barcode sticker ‘A’ to the reverse of your blood collection tube.
- (2c) Place the sample into the sample bag provided.
- (2d) Apply the larger sticker ‘B’ to the outside of the sample bag.
Step 3
- (3a) Insert your bagged sample back into the UN3373 transport box provided and seal with the security seal sticker.
- (3b) Insert the UN3373 transport box into the return mailing bag provided and carefully seal.
- (3c) Apply the return shipping label to the returns bag. Taking care not to cover the UN3373 symbol.
- (3d) Please return your sample on a Monday-Thursday using any Royal Mail priority postbox.
